she did it to make a point about women's rights, not to actually introduce the amendment. She voted to table it after she made her point...which was:
"With Oklahoma's new, never-before-experienced Republican majority, we are seeing enactment of more and more measures that adversely affect women and their rights to access safe medical procedures when making reproductive healthcare decisions."
her amendment:
"Any action in which a man ejaculates or otherwise deposits semen anywhere but in a woman’s vagina shall be interpreted and construed as an action against an unborn child."
obviously the humor and irony of her comment was lost in translation. it has to do with denoting the historical legacy of men making decisions about women's health and reproductive issues...not trying to define anything with scientific arguments. Go watch Monty Python, it'll be funnier then.
She's pointing out the ridiculous obsession of today's Republican party in the U.S. on anti-abortion legislation. They campaigned on creating jobs, but have spent their efforts to restrict voting, end unions, and push radical anti-abortion and anti contraception legislation.
bulls**t. she knows the difference perfectly well.
its you who's too stupid to know her intent, and to see the inherent discrimination in these proposed laws.
she knows the difference perfectly well.
she's just making sure the same restrictions apply to males that the republicans want to enforce on females, and in doing so make sure the ridiculousness of the laws are plain for all to see.
Yep. The poster read the article so well that the poster thought the legislator proposing the amendment was male. That's some good reading comprehension skills right there.

Every sperm is sacred
Every sperm is good
Ev'ry sperm is needed
In your neighborhood
Every sperm is sacred
Every sperm is great
If a sperm is wasted
God gets quite irate...

i think the plan is to make the law unpassable, even for republicans, not to actually enforce it.
