I can only imagine the things this women saw and experienced in her lifetime. It's sad to hear that an entire generation who helped fight for our country and others is gone.
I wouldn't say that it's "sad" I would say that it's a job well done with honor and I salute these veterans. We all know that no one can live forever and I doubt she would of liked to see another war happen especially when she can no longer contribute to it physically. I know that's how I would feel if I was a veteran. :) R.I.P. Florence Green #Salute
Very sad that this era is completely closed out now. The last surviving Civil War veteran made it all the way until 1956. The last survivor of the Spanish-American war made it until 1993. With the longer life expectancies, I'd be willing to bet the last surviving WWII veteran lives a long long time.
History keeps getting farther behind me or is because I am getting older. I do not always look forward to the changes the future holds. May she rest in peace

There is a possibility that the last veteran of WWII dies about the same time the last veteran of WWIII dies.

Sad to lose this generation when what we really appear to need is adult supervision.

I wonder if this includes dismissed members of the military who didn't receive veteran status, but still fought.

Ah the good ol' days, woman enlists in the Air Force and ends up back in the kitchen.
