As a Christian male the ideal of purity in a mate is important to me. The thing is that I care about what is going on currently not what happened in the past. I can't really claim to be a virgin, as I was molested as a child. I just don't see someone's past sexual experience as being all that important.

Any culture that finds any value in faking a hymen has got some severe problems with primitive concepts.
One summary concept is: Appearance is everything. Sorry. Not the case.
Another summary concept: An intact hymen, aka 'virginity', has something to do with purity, innocence and transcendent sex. No. Not the case.
