That thing looks really awesome. If you're in the market for a tablet, I really can't think of much of a reason to get anything else over this short of not liking Android.

I'm planning on buying a netbook or tablet sometime in the near-ish future, and up until first seeing the Eee Pad Transformer I thought I'd continue to stick with Apple and get an iPad. Now it's actually a tough choice, and I'm leaning towards the Eee Pad.

Cost? It's cheaper than an Ipad and I'm guessing several other tablets out there. To compare it to a netbook is slightly wrong considering this isn't just a netbook, it's a netbook AND a tablet.

That would be cool as a mp3 player, to replace this piece of s**t archos 7 imt. Archos can go eat a dick, im upgrading to one of these.

That things nice, looks like they are finally getting it right. They should have built an optional hard drive into the keyboard though so you could have the option to boot another operating system or just have external storage. That will be the deciding factor for future upgrade for me.

"... it's a netbook AND a tablet."

It may be a decent tablet ... but it's not much of a netbook due to lack of software as mentioned.

Any way you care to slice it, a netbook can still do everything this tablet/netbook can for half the cost.

"... I really can't think of much of a reason to get anything else ..."

I can think of 2 reasons --- cost, and the lack of Android software aimed at content creation.

The keyboard dock is undoubtedly a good idea for those who need the ability to create content ... but there is just not much in the way of Android software designed to make use of it. And the cost of tablet + dock is more than twice that of a good netbook.
