Um, mission NOT accomplished. GoDaddy HELPED WRITE SOPA, and in fact there is a clause in the bill that specifically states that GoDaddy is immune to government shutdowns.
"Polis pointed out that SOPA and Smith’s amendment already excluded certain operators of sub-domains, such as GoDaddy.com, from being subject to shutdowns under SOPA. "
So basically they pushed and lobbied for this bill, got a clause that makes them immune from the "bad" parts of SOPA (the DNS blocks and shutdowns), and now they are saying, "ohhhh, well we don't support it anymore!" but it doesn't matter whether they support it or not, because if it is passed they are still immune.
The boycott needs to continue until they publicly say they oppose the bill and have the clause making them immune removed.
Go Daddy CEO Warren Adelman is neither for or against SOPA — a convenient position to take considering his company’s customer base is fleeing. While Adelman admits the bill needs work, he said the company isn’t beyond throwing support to another SOPA-like piece of legislation in the future.
I would say that is very weak. We want them to totaly oppose Sopa and the Protect IP bills.
If a waiter serves the same patron 3 pitchers of beer in 3 hours, enabling a serious drunk, who then goes out and gets in his car and runs down 3 pedestrians and their family dog in a crosswalk -- is the waiter who made money getting the guy drunk not somewhat to blame?
GoDaddy said they drafted the law, then wouldn't stand behind it and say what parts they drafted.
Seems pretty creepy, if you ask me.
Did RIAA and MPAA ask the American Voters what they wanted to see in the bill before it got sent to Congress.
digger where have you been??
I think there is a misunderstanding here. You may want to reread some things. How can anyone convince a sites owner to move if you don't log in?
And again if you look at my profile I haven't been here for ever. I was asked to come and read some stuff from a friend that is how I got here.
digger you seem a little wound up and ready to flame me and you shut your reply off or something. Calm down it's Christmas. I'm not the enemy,m or maybe I am if you are from Go Daddy

GoDaddy had an epic fail but don't lose sight of who the real villains in this story are: The RIAA and MPAA.

The point is GoDaddy supported sopa. Boycotting will hopefully convince them to change their minds.

Still waiting on them to say they OPPOSE the bill, not just "don't support it."

Read their wording carefully in the statement they released. It sounds like they provided themselves with a big escape clause IMO.

Wow! And I predict the list will be longer this week.

Why is it that TV news networks are not reporting on this?

It really took SOPA for people to realize GoDaddy is garbage?

I almost feel like transfering my two domains over to godaddy just so I can transfer them away....shame I'd have to pay first

Doesn't matter, anything they say now is just to save there ass. We all know where they really stand.

DIGG.COM IS REGISTERED TO GODADDY.
You're right that it's important to tell companies WHY you're boycotting, but the larger issue here is corporate liability, and that's not going away.
The SOPA issue is related to why we need network neutrality legislation.

They were part of the committee who WROTE the original legislation. I would not trust them with a penny.
