Bill for all intent and purpose seems like a decent guy, who has done a lot for the world and his community through charity. People hate him. Jobs did none of these things, and was a well documented assh**e. People loved him. Go figure.
I always considered the "product introduction" videos a good way to illustrate the difference between the two. At least in the ones I saw Bill always thanked the devs, and had them on stage. And Steve was more like "look, what *I* have made". Maybe I recall it wrong, but that was the impression I got years ago.
Bill gates treat this guy with respect where Steve job just spat all over him in his biography. However I like how the author mention gates was a better person than jobs
Agreed. Bill Gates may be a cut-throat business man, and I may not care for most of his company's products; but I can't say I dislike him. As a human being, he is a far better one than Steve Jobs. I find Apple products to be better functionally, but that may be due to my bias towards UNIX, but one cannot say that Steve Jobs was the better person.
I used to loathe Bill for the first versions of Windows I kinda had to use, but each new story that come out nowadays seems to make me like him a little more. Guess people can change, right?
Honestly, I don't. I haven't come across a single time where I needed to do something via CLI that I couldn't with OS X. However, if in the event I do come across something like this, I always keep a Linux install handy, and quite often a Windows install as well, in case I feel the need to abuse my brain.
Bill Gates sent Steve Jobs a letter. He did not IM him, dropped him an email, wrote on his FB Wall, sent him an SMS or a twit. He sent him a letter. A friend send their friends letters. That is a difference between true friends and Facebook friends.

It's not everyday that you see billionaires running around; beating disease to death with giant sacks of money.
Bill Gates is the man.

This is a great article on Gates and has little to do with Jobs. Poor choice of headline, but still an interesting read.

I am tripping in acid as I write this.
Love Bill

“I’m 56. Hopefully I’ll live another 25 to 30 years to see [unnecessary] deaths drop to zero.”
“It’s not about legacy,” he tells me. “I’d like to see it get done. That is my job.”
Fantastic goal to have. Hope you do get to see it.

I admired him for what he achieved but never liked him, until I found out about the Gates Foundation. That really changed my opinion of him.

Microsoft was way better at business than Apple, until just recently..
I'd say Gates lacked Jobs' imagination and sense of style.
