I'll wait until Verizon officially announce it, you don't think being a publicly traded company that news like this would spike their price per share? Yet, not one word is mentioned in any of their "official" press release. I am calling b.s show me the official press release or it's not happening.
Verizon Wireless, the largest U.S. mobile-phone company, will start selling Apple Inc.’s iPhone next year, ending AT&T Inc.’s exclusive hold on the smartphone in the U.S., two people familiar with the plans said. The device will be available to customers in January, according to the people, who declined to be named because the information isn’t public."
Oh wow, very credible sources here. So basically they could have just picked two people who heard this rumor from the Internet and marked it as fact?
actually, I take my original comment back from yesterday. This article is poorly written. If you read close, it never confirms anything. This is all still again speculation. Let me pull up a link to an article that quite basically destroys this article and shatters yet again all dreams of this happening in the near future...
However... they end the next paragraph with "USA TODAY was unable to independently verify the reports." ..... To which I thought loudly in my head... THEN WHY ARE YOU WRITING ABOUT IT??
Man... journalism in this country.... *shakes head*
Agreed. I've been with AT&T for almost 10 years now. Luckily, in my area AT&T is king. I can't really say that AT&T is more expensive than Verizon. My voice plan is $40 and the comparable one on Verizon is also $40. Data plan is both $30. I don't text much so I only pay $5 for 200 texts, I think Verizon gives more messages for that price. I don't remember.

Might as well have copy/pasted an article from July 1 2008.

I have an iPhone with AT&T and I don't have any complaints. The bill is expensive but I don't think it will be much cheaper on verizon.

Given all the rumors in the past about the iPhone showing up on Verizon I'll believe it only when Apple and/or Verizon confirms the claim.

All the iphone users who bash AT&T, get ready for the same damn experience with Verizon. They're all the same.

FTA: "...will start selling Apple Inc.’s iPhone next year ... two people familiar with the plans said."
Oh, well as long as "two people" said it I guess it must be true. Awesome reporting.

Buried for misleading title. I'll believe it when Verizon announces it themselves.

Burying. This is still a rumor.

The title is misleading. This is just a rumor.

Yeah, right. I've read that 100 times before. I'll believe it when I see it.

Hopefully everyone will defect to Verizon, and then AT&T's network will no longer be overwhelmed.

The same article, same words were in USA Today on the 30th ... dated a day after this bloomberg article. Who knows which one actually cam first. Here's the link http://www.usatoday.com/tech/products/2010-06-30-iphone30_ST_N.htm

So, if this were true, Apple is just going to bust out a CDMA iPhone 4 in January?? When they're having trouble just making it in white??? Yeah, okay.
