Hack journalism. UFC is a monopoly, but only because they invested so much time and money where no one else was willing to. ESPN is completely hypocritical for their coverage here. They pay boxers pennies on the dollar to UFC fighters.
I watched the entire interview and the whole time ESPN kept bringing up the issue of fighter pay when clearly that is a non issue. After an event at the post fight conference Dana gave four fighters fight of the night bonuses. Thats 280,000 dollars.
If Espn wants a story maybe they should talk about stuff Dana and the Frettia brothers have problems with. Like why they can't choose and train their own refs before Mazzagatti lets someone die
Comparing UFC to NFL or NHL is just DUMB. It's like comparing Apple to some startup tech company.
How about ESPN boxing as it was mentioned. Few hundred dollars? Where UFC pays few thousand. ESPN thinks they are holier than other network but they always hide their dirt and dig up other's.
Man see he gotta thorw money I can't be holding on to everything like his main squeeze Brock. LoL!!! But one thing is that gotta put fight on ever channel got to get the fight really promoted.

I actually signed in just to leave a comment on this. another MMA website actually set the record straight. ESPN does not pay any boxers the promotion does. ESPN airs the fights. Furthermore the 4 round fights they are talking about are equivalent to amateur fighters who are just starting out as pro. And last point is these 4 round fights are swing bouts. So they only get broadcasted if time is permitted.
Dont let the UFC fool you, some fighters in the UFC pay out of pocket until they get a nice contract due to paying trainers and training camps costing more than they make. Boxing they walk away with the bout money because the other stuff is covered by promoter.

I would always record them recording me. It makes sense to protect yourself and your brand.

Dana White always speaks the truth! Exactly how he feels and what is on his mind.
