Agreed it would be cool to see the comments, but it would also be very cool if their account participates and "diggs" instead of mostly only subbing. http://digg.com/whitehouse/diggs
Welcome White House. We are diggers, please digg other submissions too. ;-)
Guys, cut them some slack. There's a logical explanation for all of this, and you'll be surprised to find that it's not political in nature.
Over the past few months Obama has been going on and on about how difficult it is to find a pair of cheap Air Jordans, and someone on the staff happened to be a digger. They've set up this account to monitor the comment pages and hope to find him the perfect pair in time for Christmas. Relax.
Looks like I won't be posting anymore negative comments about the president. Sorry for everything I have said about you Mr. Obama. I for one welcome our new censorship/gestapo overlords.
I'll re-[frame] the comment, none of this:

:-) Government media out reach needs to maintain an balance of lingo and substance or broad purpose.
I do agree, social media is an excellent bridging device for connecting with people. I date back to , Podigy/Compuserv 600/900baud external modems, BBS's, IRC when there were only 2 main servers, IM before it was IM, SMS when we used it for server alerts...being involved in those minor and early techs has been extremely beneficial in my business life and now its just unlimited/overwhelming. Biggest issue faced is weeding out the bad ones in the group and maintaining clear and direct communications, which I think the White House might have trouble adjusting to. But, digg, the revamped WH pages, Health Care.gov, FBook, various new Gov. related sites, etc are good starting points, I don't recall a President/administration in recent history other than Clinton pre-[ 1st term ] that has made an effort to reach out to the younger generations [ MTV q&a ] and/or to reach out an make that connection click so to speak.
Knowing the source in itself protects the reader from "disinformation". If their purpose was to spread lies then Novenator is already working full time for them. Or they would setup a account that isn't known to be affiliated with the whitehouse.

Well, welcome to the poor bastard staffer that has to weed through the crap that is Digg's comment base lately.

I am pretty sure our government administration and staff have better things to do than reading and digging stories and comments here.
karlaporterDec 16, 2010Buried
Local governments should follow the example of Federal Government. They get kudos for embracing new means of public communication.
anub1sDec 17, 2010Buried
They have an account here, they don't control the site. That's like saying that building an embassy is a countrys way of invading another country.

Yeah, well, he did not fix healthcare either. How much have your rates gone up since they passed that monster?
evildeadashDec 17, 2010Buried
lol.

Awesome! Instead of doing back handed stuff like disinformation tactics against people or organizations i.e. Wikileaks, they can just post it!

Welcome @WhiteHouse! Since "Best of" right now is Wikileaks, will there be any related posts from you?

I post political comments on the internet.
I have no delusions how grand that is.
None.

Hmm... yummy propaganda! I feel so informed now!
