The Republican party seems to be going out of its way to lose the upcoming election. I, a registered Republican for 40 years, am only too happy to help them succeed.

I have received my $1 million check from George and I shall be voting Dem this year. He is coming with me to the polls to make sure.

Beyond that, this is the worst imaginable field imaginable. Imagine it. These idiots have moved so far right and told so many poorly told lies, how could a republican with a modicum of self respect left vote for them? And you are right, they have ignored the non radical majority in their party and all tried to be tea thugs. The tea thugs are disappearing and so will these three.

Palinbots demand Romney get out, the Grinch demands Romney and Frothy get out. These people are freaked out. The voting on Colorado was down 50% in the Rick Frothy win. The republican party is in ruin. The top blue suits know it. Prebus humpfuas or whatever his name is, is now under investigation with Walker. Its out of control

And on top of it, they have white supremacists speaking at CPAC as well as that little ball of hate, Tony Perkins

The Tea Party is FAR out of favor with Americans, yet Republican candidates keep pandering to the far right idiot portion of their party.

Just take a look at the people here on Digg who identify themselves as Tea Party members. 90% of them are close minded jerks. They talk to their Republican neighbors. Their neighbors nod their heads, then go home and say "no way I'm voting like that jerk".

Republicans have only themselves to blame for not being able to beat Obama.

You know that thing about beating a dead horse? Hating on Obama seems to be the only thing that gets consistent applause from every Republican candidate. Hating on Obama is NOT a platform, and it is now tiresome, I'm sure. Plus, these past few months have given us a clown show paraded through some 20+ "debates" among the candidates. Nothing of virtue was revealed, but a lot of vice has, and a lot of mud has been flung.

Over the past 40 years, Democrats have moved to the right, Republicans have moved to the funny farm.

Some of the things Republicans have done in this Congress would have been labeled "treason" 40 years ago.

For example, playing politics with the debt ceiling promoted the first ever downgrade of the US credit rating. This hurt all Americans. If that's not "treason", someone please explain what "treason" means?

I'm a Republican-leaning moderate, and yes, there's a very real chance I vote for Obama this year. If I wanted to live in a Theocracy, I'd move to Iran.

It's either Obama, or a group that is currently arguing for the repeal of contraception in the year 2012.

Exactly. I have heard, time after time, Republicans say they will not help America and will stand in the way of recovery in order to unseat Obama. That is the clearest case of pure treason there is in modern politics. Why haven't these fine upstanding gentlemen been tried for it yet?

Policy wise ---- Obama today is what used to be called "Republican" back in the 80's.

Republicans deify Ronald Regan but at the same time, half the stuff they rail against today, he did back in the 80's.

For example, Regan raised taxes 11 times and presided over a tripling of the federal budget deficit.

There is a link to the poll. Worse, its a republican poll. Of course polls are not indicative of future performance

Last poll I saw put Obama at a minimum of 51% against each running Republican. That makes you a glass half empty guy.

It's probably BS, but plenty of republicans will stay home if the party doesn't get it's act together and weed out the nutballs. By the time Romney locks up the nomination, he will be damaged goods. This is the very definition of a circular firing squad.

Of course. Why is this a shock? Who do the above 111 IQ Republicans have to vote for?

I think it's VERY clear Obama will get a second term.

Maybe if the republicans weren't so hell bent on cramming a singular moral standard down everyones throats they would stand a chance. We are a pluralist society and that goes for our morality too. Even if you think that gays will burn in hell for all eternity or that abortion and contraception are morally reprehensable it is not your right to impede the exercise of the freedom. The republicans talk liberty and freedom, but they are not being honest, they want to run your private lives or at least make there ideal version of life the law of the land. Most people in this country rightly do not want to give that sort of power to our politicians, after all they are usually utter failures who given the power can be tyrants.

Romney is trailing Obama, and RP trails Romney. I'd say that's not exactly a good thing for him...

Where was your opposition to raising the debt ceiling when Ronald Reagan and Dubya raised it on MULTIPLE occasions?

I hate that we have to do it too, but the government has no choice since Conservatives extorted an irresponsible extension of the Bush tax cuts. Take your complaints to John Boehner (R-OH) and Mitch McConnell (R-KY) since they led the charge in extending that irresponsible fiscal policy.
