Looking back at my graduating class from high school, there have been prostitutes, child molesters, and murderers. By association, I must be all three!
I've on the other hand turned out to be fairly successful. High school is simply based on your geographic location.

Articles like this are essentially pointing out the stupidity of associations made this way. When it was Obama, people like Rush and his ilk were more than happy to draw a parallel, but will likely ignore it when the shoe is on the other foot. If anything, you're proving the point nicely.
Who really cares? I mean classmates means what exactly? It doesn't make them friends, doesn't make them related, just means they happened to live in the same city or town. Doesn't really say too much.
