THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!! If this man had any Honor, he would turn in his letter of resignation to the Kansas House of Reps for such despicable display of disrespect to the office of the Presidency. I know one thing, if ANYONE (Dems) said something like this and directed it towards President Bush, that man would be sent off to an unknown place overseas and never heard from again!!
FTA: O'Neal is calling for prayers for the death of the President, the First Lady and even the President's children. He concluded the message to his fellow Republicans with a personal endorsement: 'At last — I can honestly voice a Biblical prayer for our president! Look it up — it is word for word! Let us all bow our heads and pray. Brothers and Sisters, can I get an AMEN? AMEN!!!!!!'"
This is what passes for Christianity these days in many right wing circles."
Every time I read something like this, I have to take 3 steps back and realize that some of my best friends are Christian, and they do find goodness in Christianity.
But - it is getting harder and harder to understand why we want Christianity at all, if this an example of what it means to be "Christian".
Digg has too many patriots now. It might be time to implement one account per ip address. Else, these GOP bots will keep bumping fairy stories on the front page.
Right - it is no wonder that Obama gets 30 death threats per day - a record number.
If anything, God forbid, happened to Obama, though - they will all do their circle-jerk and say that it has nothing to do with actions such as O'Neal's...
You're imagining things. I and most of my liberal friends didnt wish Bush DEAD, we wanted him IMPEACHED. Tried, convicted, and imprisoned for breach of the Constitution. That's following the rule of law and there's a considerable difference.
And when Obama trounces whoever the eventual GOP candidate is by, say, 65% to 35%, the right wing will *still* be insisting he's "illegitimate."
Those people were f**king retarded - don't use them to justify this. I'm speaking as a libertarian who supports neither Bush nor Obama. It's f**king sick that people say, "Oh, but the other side did it too, that makes it okay!" I hated the liberals who wished for Bush's death, and I despise the conservatives that wish the same for Obama.
Because this is not Christianity. Christianity is Christ dying on a cross and yet still loving and forgiving his enemies. Christianity is as far removed from Speaker O'Neal's actions as you can get.
We get worked up over prayer because it a placebo and does nothing except in the mind of the used. Religion is as helpful as hallucinogens. You can see a lot of things, but in the end... it's just a man on a telephone pole.

Remember when a state's House Speaker wished death on Bush? Me neither. Your comparison is bogus.
Grow up, Republicans. You act like it's the same, but it's not. This vitriol is unprecedented.

The way we always have... By telling the truth and backing it up with facts.

Hatred is ugly. Period. Hatred in the name of love, is hideous. I reject this and people who wish it. Always.

How in the holy f**k do you come to that conclusion? I said that someone else doing something wrong isn't justification for you doing wrong.

"So why are they so worked up over a prayer?"
Because it is a dog whistle to kill the president, plain and simple.
No matter who the president is, this should not be tolerated.
clitniblr036Jan 31, 2012Buried
Exactly. This is disgraceful no matter who says it.

"according to most liberals God doesn't exist" - that gets the award for the most stupid and ignorant comment in the history of digg. f**ktard
skinturtleJan 31, 2012Buried
What a ****. You pretty much judge the evil in man when he prays for another man's death because he threatens his wealth agendas.
Dude should be thrown in prison.

I live in Kansas and I'm tempted to email this idiot and tell him he's a f**king idiot.
chilidogsJan 31, 2012Buried
It makes it significantly different. Some idiot hanging a Bush effigy is not quite the same thing as someone elected to represent their party.

You can't fix stupid unfortunately.

'damn near 99% of the human population holds some sort of religious belief'
um, no, just... no.
