So now Gingrich is openly assaulting the 1st Amendment that protects religious freedoms? And he's asking us to vote for him as President to uphold the very document he would swear to defend? Thanks for playing Newt.
This is just the same old garbage the conservatives have been bitching about for years. "Obama's a marxist. Obama's a muslim. Obama wasn't born in the US. Obama had a cocaine fueled gay sex orgy with a not-so-attractive homeless man." It's all the same BS from these neanderthals. They're just too stupid to realize how ridiculous they sound, and how much everyone laughs at them behind their backs.
Problem solved:
Obama needs to make a public statement to Gingrich:
Dear formerly disgraced and removed speaker of the house,
You are not allowed to claim or worry about others respecting a specific religion. You cheated on your wives for years. You need to learn to respect your own religion first, then we can discuss your crybaby antics.
Who is Gingrich referring to when he says "our religion"? Last time I checked, America was still the only place in the world with freedom of religion written into it's constitution. By definition there is no "our religion". We are a plural society, constitutionally. I dislike empty rhetoric. I really dislike it from people with a great deal of formal education. Mr. Speaker, I choose to opt out of your unfounded generalization. Please do not speak for me or anyone else who has not specifically identified themselves as being represented by you.
murx: I did look and you are right; in a quick search I found that India and Canada both have Freedom of Religion in their constitutions. Perhaps there are more. I should have checked before making that claim.
Thanks for that, I stand corrected. My point, however, remains valid, even with that correction.

Most of the stories in the Bible were taken from older Egyptian, Babylonian, and Greek mythologies.

This entire election season...it's a sitcom. There's no way there could be that many cartoonishly incompetent hypocrites running in the same party.
Is Team Rocket behind this?
