And on a different note, I know the feds don't want the public smoking cannabis but why don't Americans encourge cannabis use to make toilet paper? Napkins and paper towels all the stuff we waste on a daily basis should be made out of cannabis.
There is an old ...old ... report somewhere on the net about why that all came about. had to do with competition with oil companies and some well greased palms.
A two month investigation, wow. That's all? They couldn't have milked the taxpayer for say, a full year? Think of the overtime, the training for the newbs and hell, maybe even a few more hires. Why not? No one else is hiring might as well go into something you know isn't going away and if it even appears as though it will. . . oh, there it is EPIDEMIC! More fed money! Cha-ching!
Wondering if the suspects suddenly realized that they were next door to the cops, and were getting ready to move their operations. Or perhaps it was just about time to harvest the first crop and the police were waiting on that to put the most financial hurt on the suspects. After all, they've paid up the rent, paid for the electricity, all that's left is harvesting, drying, and selling the crop.
My guess would be that they needed 2 months to go through the medical Marijuana growing applications to see if the suspects had their paperwork in order and found they hadn't filed.
In any case the police decided that this was a good time to do the arrest. Perhaps they've got some bigger crime to investigate.
Or everyone on that "task force" took turns using this as the excuse to get their extra 20 hours of overtime every week for two months.
But, you do bring up an interesting point. For two months the cops knew, so what the hell were they doing? Exactly how much proof does one need in a case like this?
And if you couldn't tell, I was being facetious in my earlier post.
If these guys were independent growers, who knows why they waited. If they were just the hired help to run someone else's operation, I'd guess the cops were following them to see who they led to.
The story didn't say one way or another. My point of contention is that a bust that could at most be spread out over a week lasted two months. Seems a bit absurd to me. It's bad enough we pay the police to actually do this all the time, but at least try to save a buck or two.

Actually, all hemp is cannabis (as in belonging to the species cannabis sativa), but all cannabis is not hemp.
Only the high-fiber, low-THC strains of cannabis are considered hemp.

Cannabis is not hemp. Like dandelions are not roses. However, I get your point.

best place to hide, right under their noses.
Too bad they got busted, in California no less. Gotta love wasteful spending by the government.

OK, I get that. I do know what hemp is. BTW. Just got it a bit out of order. Thanks for the info.
