Gilligan has more internal fortitude in his little finger than Schettino has in in entire body.
Gilligan stayed with the ship, exposed to the terrible storm, and put his own life at risk doing everything he could to save his passengers. "If not for the courage of the fearless crew the Minnow would be lost (the Minnow would be lost)".
Even though he wasn't very bright, and surely a bungler, you cannot question Gilligan's courage and his willingness to put others before himself. (Same with the Skipper)
I think I'd much prefer the crew of the Minnow piloting my cruise than the crew of the Concordia.
Humankind has always found refuge from tragedy behind laughter ... it's what is known as a "coping' mechanism .. and yes, many of us Christians deal with tragedy with laughter. God gave YOU the ability to be a victor over tragedy; use it, please.
Gilligan might trip, but he would have fallen back onto the Skipper, and they both would have fallen back into the ship *way before* they even got near any lifeboat.
He just happens to do something different every time to botch their plan for getting off the island (or ship).
I wouldn't call it excellent. Better than average, especially among the withered digg community, but not particularly impressive.
He should have gone with the classic "f**k you, my friend died in a shipwreck" troll. I doubt there are many left on digg that remember that meme, so it's like it's fresh all over again.
This meme is awesome! I love that show! My favorite is the one where the professor comes up with that ingenious way of getting the gang off of the island and just when it's about to work... Gilligan messes it up and now they're stuck on the island some more! I think that's the episode where Mr. Howell and Lovey are annoyed at the lack of immenities, also.

The Skipper is so right!

That's because he's trying to trip and fall on his "lil' buddy."
cherylbytesJan 22, 2012Buried
Which means...Gilligan must have played a part in this too!

Thank you, captain obvious, for repeating the punchline for everyone that somehow didn't read it at the bottom of the image.

Excellent trolling. Others could learn from your supreme example.

Well, it's certainly clear that the "Professor" wasn't on board either! :-)

It must suck to be stuck on a small island with two hot women and not get any.
