Ok, the kid sounds like a whiner, but then again that's pretty common amongst teenagers. But why shoot the laptop? Give it to someone in your community who can't afford one, or donate it to a school or library. Shooting it to make a point is the same kind of melodramatic bulls**t that his daughter did by making the post in the first place.

because giving it away likely does not have the same "Impact" as watching it be destroyed.

all kids think they get punished over nothing. its how kids think. I would make her volunteer in a kitchen AND shoot the laptop AND make her work to replace it. depending on how bad she was.

And yet another young teen girl driven into prostitution to finance her face-book addiction. :P

Good for him. Kind of a waste of a laptop but I think that definitely got the point across to his whiney-ass kid.

It's more fun to shoot it than give it away. There. It's been addressed.

I don't think that's true. Often times parents who had nothing growing up, try to compensate by making sure their kids have everything they did not. Not realizing that creates bad character in their children and deprives of them of some needed character built from wanting yet not having.

she is a bit of a whiner ya, but i came from the generation that had spankings and while we didn't like it, i think it did work for quite a lot of cases where the parent wasn't just an abusive spank happy assh**e. ie: only for when the kid REALLY screwed up. not the little s**t like threw sand at another kid. This parent unfortunately does not have that privilege this day and age to have been able to quell some of the common rebellious nature of kids today. Instead he spanked her mentally. he hit her in a way she never probably thought possible. honestly, i sorta wanna see the mental breakdown she puts herself into cause it will be funny as f**k how much she screams likely about not being able to use her facebook. its like crack to people these days. especially teens as its the cool place to be. this father wins in all different ways today. maybe shooting it was a bit far, but it honestly drives home his point a lot better than just giving it away would be cause she is likely the type to harass that poor individual "lucky" enough to get that laptop. especially if she already feels as entitled as she does to her fathers well doing.

No one who has disagreed addresses the idea of giving the laptop away, specifically to someone who has less. It still deprives her from using it, but also puts it into perspective that there are others who's parents can't afford to buy them computers.

Instead, the father destroys the laptop with violence, achieving nothing. Do you think the daughter got the message? Or is it more likely she will chalk this up to her "crazy irrational parents" punishing her over nothing? This is just fueling her "woe is me" privileged teenager mentality.

I'd make her volunteer in a soup kitchen. At least that would give her some perspective on hard work and poverty.

Look parents of America, this is how you do it. I'm as liberal as they come, but when it comes to spoiled kids who don't work for anything they have, f*ck em. They need discipline and don't get it. I grew up working for everything that I had, even throughout high school. Bought my first car, paid for the insurance, all the way up until military enlistment. Never once did I ask my parents for money. It would have shamed me. The sense of entitlement most of these teens have today is disgusting to say the very least. I have no pity for this young girl. Disrespect your elders, this is what happens. Go dad.

yes. oh f**k. yes. i wish more parents where like this guy. Mjm6783 i sorta agree with ya about the melodramtic part and where he could have just given it to a complete stranger after having wiped it clean of all data. but honestly this was a much more effective way to drive home his point. as you see he just put in 130 dollars into it for her, just so she could go write that post. that is something you call a two faced little bitch and those need to be slapped hard. sadly that has become illegal so him just destroying the laptop that he has bought and upgraded for her free of charge is justly his right in all forms especially in the discipline of his daughter.

in short
Dad 1
Daughter -2 cause she lost to her mom too with the mention of that 1 dollar cost per bullet.

I'm a new parent who loved watching him assert his authority, but I'm still young enough to remember how my parents responded to my acts of rebellion not that long ago. This video gave me chills.
