For anyone interested: the owner (who owns the camera that filmed this) found the cat 15 hours later, unharmed. The woman's been identified and is being "interviewed" by the RSPCA (animal protection thinger). The police aren't involved as no crime has technically been committed.
This video left me with such a sick feeling; which, in another sense is a little odd considering that I know people are capable of far worse, and in fact commit such crimes on a daily basis. But seeing a friendly kitten being thrown in a garbage can by an old woman, damn...
That woman seems seriously disturbed to me. She seems so compassionate, and then, proves to be anything but. I hope she is discovered and justice is served.
It's hard to believe that someone could do this, but we all know it happens. I think if she is caught, she should receive the same treatment. That is only my opinion. I know that most would not feel that way.

Hey everyone - when I subbed this, another came up in the dupe detector, but that video had been removed from YouTube.
And now I've found another: http://digg.com/pets_animals/Genuine_Psychopath_Caught_on_Camera_video
So disregard my sub and digg that one, please.

After some dredging around, I found out this occurred on Brays Lane in Coventry, UK. Looking at the vid on Youtube and running up and down the road using Google Street View, I figured out it happened at 58 Brays Lane. http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2010/08/23/article-1305458-0AE38E13000005DC-699_634x492.jpg

According to Sky News the woman has been offered police protection... http://twitter.com/SkyNewsBreak/status/21987742297
