I'll concede this is probably of little interest to most of you, but on the day that Reagan was shot, a young struggling Brazillian photographer snapped a shot and documented the attempted assassination. It was this single shot (I don't think it's the one depicted here) that made people take notice of this photographer who has gone on to be one of the greatest photographers of all time, easily one of photography's masters. I couldn't find a good page that displayed his images well (you probably need to buy one of his incredible books to do them justice), but google search results gives you a good return. http://bit.ly/akX5ee Sebastiao Salgado's career was born on this day.
