There's absolutely no research to back up the claim that separate beds enhance your sex life, so I wouldn't put too much stock in this article. In fact, there's actually good reason to suspect that this might backfire because sleeping separately reduces intimacy and opportunities for sexual activity.

That is why you need a second bed, not a bed and a couch.

Get a divorce and start dating around with women who actually want to put out

Translation: this works for a few couples so therefore, it works for everyone.

This article is 100% accurate. In the old back-and-white TV series 'The Dick Van Dyke Show' they slept in separate beds - and that show was practically porn! ;)

I start out sleeping in bed with the wife but the rugrat comes over around 2:30/3 a.m. every night and I get up and go to the guest room just so I have room to move. I love it when "momma" comed over around 5:30/6a.m. some mornings. #nuffsaid

This actually works if you work on different schedules. Nothing is worse than being awakened as your GF/Spouse gets into bed. Stop watching porn too because it creates unrealistic expectations (she doesn't look like x porn star, she doesn't gobble my meat like that).

Nothing says sexy like sleeping in 1950's sitcoms.

What ever they want is up to them. If that's okay for them and it works then maybe others should try,if nothing else is working for you and your loved one. Like I have heard don't knock it til you try it.ha

If I ever get married I anticipate sleeping in my own bed. But that's just so I'll be able to go to sleep.

One day you might enjoy sleeping next to your loved one - it is a great feeling :)

If you really want to spruce up your sex life then spice it up and find stuff that you both enjoy. Don't just let your crappy sex life be what it is...work on it! Separate beds is not going to cause you to enjoy sex more - in my opinion it will cause you to have sex less.

I like having my own separate bedroom. It may not help the sex life but I sure sleep well.
