It's sad. We teach our kids to judge people by their current action not so much on their past. We teach our kids that people can change we just have to give them a chance. then we have adults that act like this. The kids have no clue she used to be in porn. All they know is there's this nice lady reading a book to them. Plus I fail to see them problem with her reading a children's books to a bunch of children. they make it sound like she was going to give them pointers on how to get into the porn biz.
/lame -- I bet most parents at that school are already familiar with her previous career and I would bet even have some of her material on their computer.... Seriously, so she did porn.. Big Deal.. Her ability to f*ck on screen isn't related to her ability to help kids.
#1 She's an ex-porn star. That means she doesn't do it anymore.
#2 Those kids hopefully have no idea who she is or what she did in her past. If they do, those whiny parents are the ones to blame for allowing their young children to be exposed to it.
#3 Every single one of those children are an end result of the same type of actions (referring to having sex) their parents partook in, so it's rather hypocritical of them to gripe about it. Remember, kids...sex is evil.
#4 She's doing charitable work, so stop condemning her for helping to promote the education of your kids, you f**king assh**es.
Seriously, everybody is adamant on finding something stupid to bitch about, and it's getting old.
and who causes the "breaks"? People like you and I. The general citizens.. If we would stop making such a big deal out of mole hills like this, they would no longer be "the breaks"
Thanks meribian. Last I checked this was the uncencored wild wide web. Dont think i was too raunchy. Matter of fact, if you cant handle the word "semen" then stay off the internet.
That argument could be applied to anyone that's famous. Their fame will always be associated with them being chosen to do anything that would otherwise be a non-event...
Also, from the article "“We have several celebrities who read to our students each year,”" -- So, she's not the only one.. It's just news because she did porn, which is lame.
She's broken no laws. She's not a sex offender or child molester. I'm sure some teachers do some pretty freaky s**t in the sack or had wild pasts. That's why it's called the past.
So, because she was in Porn means she didn't have any hobbies or other side talents? I suppose the only thing you're good at in life is what you do at work?
But nothing about her previous career make her any less qualified. The fact is that she volunteered and the guy walking around town is . . . well, walking around town.
If kids look up to attractive women and emulate them, would a parent want their 6 year children emulating porn stars? It is astonishingly easy to find out information about people today, no matter how many controls parents put in place. While she may have some admirable qualities (her mainstream acting career, her volunteer work), we both know what she is best known for.
As a porn star, she will always be tied to sex in some form. That's part of her career choice. Again, I have no problem with her making that career choice, but it does carry with it consequences. In bringing her into the classroom, the school invited the accompanying curiosity about her background and career, the most prominent part of which is sex.

And? Who cares? Good for her, and good for the children.

Small children don't know about porn stars unless their parents are extremely irresponsible.

Lots of random guys volunteer time to read to kids. It's because they want to support education and kids.
rudegarNov 14, 2011Buried
lazy kids should read their own book!
shingoexNov 14, 2011Buried
If small children are knowledgeable about specific porn stars, then it's safe to say their parents are the ones that need a good talking to.
