Good points but at least Firaxis are at the helm which means there is at least a common link (i.e. Microprose and Firaxis both being companies lead by Sid Meier).
I actually quite liked Apocalypse. The mix of turn-based/real-time gameplay was a bit clumsy and the scale wasn't as grand as the first game where you're reponsible for appeasing world governments instead of corporations, but it had its moments :).
So true silentspyder. When I revisited the original I couldn't believe how far I got when I played it as a kid all those years ago! As an adult I don't think I survived the first mission!
However, if they make this iteration of XCOM easy like a lot of computer games nowadays, Iron Mode might be feasible...

I'll wait and see on this.
Even Microprose tried to update the play of X-Com:UFO in X-Com: Apocalypse, and the gameplay was a total mess.
And the fact that the X-Com name was licensed out to that FPS abomination coming out is not encouraging.

I just started playing the original 2 weeks ago and I couldn't imagine playing without multiple saves. That game is f**king hard and I'm on beginner.
