learn some history:
"Some of the primary and more famous Americans and companies that were involved with the fascist regimes of Europe are: William Randolph Hearst, Joseph Kennedy (JFK's father), Charles Lindbergh, John Rockefeller, Andrew Mellon (head of Alcoa, banker, and Secretary of Treasury), DuPont, General Motors, Standard Oil (now Exxon), Ford, ITT, Allen Dulles (later head of the CIA), Prescott Bush, National City Bank, and General Electric."
Man, I know this will sound troll like but I have this monkey on my back that keeps boxing my ears and I need to shake it off.
Why aren't photographers credited on these images? Why can't sites like imgur.com require that the images uploaded be signed digitally by their creators in order to be posted? Is it just to let work, yes work, carefully crafted by imaging professionals be used without consent and/or credit?
Wouldn't it be easy to spot people violating copyright if they are falsely claiming ownership? So many people get up in arms about copyright but I can guarantee you that most of them aren't creating these images. I agree, it's a new age but it doesn't have to be an age of unjustified entitlement. Just because it's there doesn't mean you should take advantage of it because you think someone's work should be available for free. Artists have to cover the costs of production and feed their families so at least give them credit if you are going to hijack their images.
Let's keep the interwebs an artist friendly place. Encourage sites to take action to help creative people get the recognition they deserve for the work the sites are profiting from.
I made a comment about that last night and mentioned how sad it was coming from a digg staffer and was promptly banned for it. They must have added a butthurt clause in the TOS.
