I love my Ooma, pay approx $200 upfront, now i just pay the taxes each month. About $6 a month for my nearly unlimited phone use.. No this is not an advertizement for it. I just use it and love it. Cancelled Verizon and their over charging crap.

What the hell are you talking about about? The article doesn't say anything about rounding up Verizon executives and killing them. In fact, I don't think they mention doing anything illegal.

What this article talks about is Verizon customers complaining about something that the company they have hired had intended to do.

Even to a "free hand of the market fixes everything" kind of guy as I'm guessing you are, what's wrong with that?

I'm trying to understand what it is about this article that upsets you. Are you against the content of the piece or about the fact that Alternet published it?

If you are truly upset that it is Alternet that carried the piece, then I'm confused by this attitude. I may not like FOX News but if they publish a report that the sun will rise tomorrow, it'd be rather silly of me to discount this report simply because it's FOX that issued it.

On the other hand (and this I assumed was your issue [perhaps I was in error]), if you didn't like the content of the report, I don't understand what they wrote that bothers you.

Customers simply banded together in a legal and peaceful effort to convince the telcom to change their mind. If that effort failed then these people can take their business elsewhere.

I'm not sure I see the problem. Please tell me what I'm missing.

as a Socially Awkward Penguin, i want the phone of my choice, no contract, unlimited texts, 2gb, maybe even 500mb data, minimal minutes (10 cents a min would be ok). the cheapest i can get this on a GOOD network (sprint, verizon (i'm currently unhappy with t-mo's customer service)) is $80-90. hell, even at&t is about that much.

how the f**k is it this bad in america?

Did your reply make sense when you typed it? Maybe it got lost in translation somewhere.

This is why we have number portability. It's up to the consumer to avoid getting caught up in HIGH TECH ADDICTION and switch to non-profits or no contract new-comers. This is the ONLY way the big companies will change. A good start is ditching the Iphone for one of the many Android (open source) Devices.Comment is buried, click here to see the rest.
