bunch of ravenous parasites are what the RIAA, MPAA, and related organizations are. They see dollar signs and don't give a s**t how they can get a bigger piece of the pie.
it's raising awarness.. people click on the black logo and they are informed. it's accomplishing a lot when everyone in America sees it when they google
I'm afraid if Google and the government go at it over SOPA and PIPA we will all suffer. Hollywood wants to protect their protected work. That's reasonable, but I think there is a better way other than getting the government being involved!
SOPA and PIPA don't make them look all that impotent. You make it sound as though they are a benevolent force, kindly submitting to our changing desires, instead of the kicking and screaming child that they have been. Itunes? Hulu? They didn't make those because they were nice, they made them because we forced them to compete.
So, would you like Google to censor the internet for the rest of the world? Would you prefer that the rest of the world follow China's example of censoring any information its government doesn't want exposed? Because Google is following the laws in China does not mean that China's laws are right or that Google is being hypocritical in opposing censorship elsewhere.
Hollywood, along with the music industry, needs to get with the 21st century and understand that markets are changing. Everything is on the internet now. Piracy happens and that's now a fact of life. The best thing they can do is win the support of their potential customers.
That's how iTunes/Apple, Netflix, and Steam/Valve does it. They have excellent and profitable service, and everyone can listen, watch, and play their favorite things. In fact, pirates are some of the most faithful costumers these companies can get.
don't care too much? my friend got kicked off youtube for posting an INSTRUMENTAL OF A SONG and I almost got a tribute taken down cuz it had a Rise Against song in it. You can't tell me that YouTube doesnt do anything
I completely agree with this. It's not fair that YouTube and Wikipedia have to be attacked because other lazy people are using these websites to plagarize. it is NOT the websites fault, and maybe instead of blaming the website we should place blame where it really lies: the people.
Also, there are websites like YouTube downloader that are the real sites of piracy and illegal downloading, NOT YouTube

Yes it will. But it would have been nicer if they had a page more like wikipedia that gives you phone numbers and tells you to call.

They have to follow chinese law to operate there. Just like how they will have to follow SOPA's censorship rules in the US if it passes.
