...and then when you finish reading the history on how the parties essentially switched places, get back to me on that. I'll wait.

Be nice to Alan - this is the only reply he has when it comes to racism in politics. Kind of like how any story about homosexuality and politics brings out the "Isn't Fred Phelps a registered Democrat?" Let him do his copy and paste thing in peace. Computers are hard, and context is a whole lot harder than that.

Read some history. Lincoln was a Rebublican. No good Southerner was a Republican. They were Dixiecrats. They founded the KKK. It took almost 100 years before they started switching parties. But first the Republicons had to purge the legacy of Lincoln.

im waiting for the republicans to come in here saying that its the democrats who are always racist and playing the race card.

the problem is that the republicans are doing and saying the racist things and the democrats are merely calling them out on it. big, BIG difference

So large numbers of Americans don't believe in Evolution, it doesn't mean that they are right.

How does a person function when they are so delusional? You can't really believe what you say?

They and their party appeal to the lowest common denominator in the human spirit. Cowardice is a part of that.

It's not racist to doubt his birthplace.

Just incredibly, incredibly stupid.

Where are you pulling this 60% number from? The only time I've seen it that high is in polling of likely Republican caucus-goers. If you've seen a poll that shows 60% of Americans doubt Obama is an American, please share the link.

You said, "i dont know? how do you function voting for the party of Bird, Gore, Jim Crow and affirmative action?"

Do you see where you said "Gore"?

I really don't think you should drink and post. Really screws up your thought processes.

You are right wing extreme freak so if I tell you that Al Gore provided the capability for you to use this thing called the internet then you would say that Al Gore invented the internet or some other dumb ass right wing freak bulls**t. I was short circuiting that.

How much do I need to explain because I really think I might need to explain short circuit because I really think you won't understand that either.

Makes it really hard to hold a conversation so knock off the drinking and sober up.

I really should know better than try to have a conversation with a mental midget.

Actually, both sides have idiots who do racist/bigoted things. Balancing example: When recent interviews were made of people demonstrating against Clarence Thomas (who is conservative), and the demonstrators were asked what they thought should be done wiht him, there were comments from these presumably liberal protestors whcih included 'they should send him back to the farm' and 'string him up, and his wife too!' Now, this is not to say that all libs are evil hate-spewers. It's to remind opeople that hate spewing ignores political lines and boundries. Dems and Reps both of haters. They also both have people who don't hate. So don't go accusing any given party of being bigoted.

Oh, and if you happen to not like the politics or ideology of a given person who is not yoru same ethnic type, does not make you racist. A white person can dislike a black person or that person's ideas with out it being racially involved in any way shape or form. That person is only a bigot if he dislikes the minority *because* he's a minority.

If a poll came out and found that a majority of people thought you were an idiot, would you accept that as proof that you are an idiot?

Racism rears its ugly head in a lot of different ways, not just under the white hood of the KKK. There are a lot of people who are racist and have no idea that they are. The type who claim they aren't, but are pleasantly surprised when someone of a different race exceeds their expectations based on no real reason other than them thinking poorly of the race in the first place.

And where did I say I was perfect, and that all of my friends are, too? Racism isn't like a light switch, on or off. There are varying degrees. And what does spirituality have to do with racism, exactly?

As Bill O'Reilly said (yes, O'Reilly), those that are bringing up Barack Obama's place of birth in Congress are pinheads pandering to the stupidest form of the American population; heck, they're worse than the Tea Party. That's it, there is no justification for their actions except that they're axis 2 mentally retarded. Plus, at least Boehner pays no lip service to them (at least claims he believes Obama is a Christian and born here in the U.S.).

Barbour lost all legitimacy when he proudly defended the confederate flag hanging in his office. Typical conservative; they're just the old Dixiecrats reincarnate.

I would have guessed that 6 out of 10 Americans are racist without it being tied to Obama.
